Derine Winning, DVM

Dr. Winning graduated from Colorado State University in 1997. She practiced in Montana for over six years before coming back to her home state of North Dakota in 2003. She joined Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2006 and became a partner in the clinic later that year. Since then she continues to enjoy practicing small animal and exotic medicine, performing surgery and is certified in veterinary acupuncture at Valley Veterinary Hospital. As time has progressed, Dr. Winning has established many cherished relationships with clients and their pets and enjoys "catching up" with them on their visits.

Dr. Winning's family includes two standard Dachshunds, Doobie and Dahlia. Dr. Winning is considered starting a support group for those, like her, who are Dachshund addicts. Other than spending time with her dogs, she enjoys cooking, gardening, running, and just spending time in the country.

Lisa Ohman, DVM

Dr. Ohman grew up in South Saint Paul, MN. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian by the time she was five years old. She pursued her career choice and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She had been practicing in Minnesota until September of 2011 when she joined Valley Vet. Dr. Ohman brings a wide set of skills and compliments our practice and especially pursues high quality care for her patients and clients. Dr. Ohman's areas of interest include ultrasound, physical rehabilitation, and soft tissue surgery. She and her husband Chris share their home with their daughters; Quinn and Kendall, as well as a crazy Labrador named Drake, 2 guinea pigs named Olaf and Merida, a rescued lovable pound cat named Rojo and 2 chickens named Ariel and Aurora. Dr. Ohman enjoys the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, watching her dogs hunt, and spending time at her family lake cabin in the summer.

Ericka Gillette, DVM

Dr. Gillette is a California native, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her mother was originally from northern Minnesota so she spent many summers just an hour east of Fargo. Always having a passion for animals, she often played veterinarian as a child. She performed her first stuffed animal surgery at the age of 2, when she learned to thread a needle. She achieved her childhood dream after she graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical training at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Gillette has a passion for Animal Behavior/Training and a love for cats. Her four pets include a lovely mixed breed dog named Flora, a sweet orange tabby kitty named Dijon, a sassy calico kitty named Dorothy Kate and an overly hyper German Shorthaired Pointer/Irish Setter Mix named Barinya.

Kristine Haroldson, DVM

Dr. Haroldson was raised on a farm outside of Tappen, ND.  She graduated from NDSU in 2007 and worked as a veterinary assistant in Bismarck until 2011.  She then attended Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.  Dr. Haroldson had been practicing at a mixed animal practice in ND after graduation until she joined Valley Vet in July 2016.  She enjoys working with all species but has a special interest in exotic and zoo animals.  Dr. Haroldson, her husband Chris and her son TJ share their home in Fargo with their yellow lab, 3 cats and a crested gecko.  In her free time, Dr. Haroldson enjoys playing with baby TJ, reading mystery novels, spending time at the lake with family and walking or playing fetch with Daisy.

Haylee H.

Haylee is from Rosemount, MN and moved to Fargo to attend NDSU in 2004. After graduating NDSU in 2008 with degrees in Animal Science and Equine Science she moved to Missouri to pursue a job in equine reproduction. She returned to Fargo in September 2010, and joined the Valley Veterinary team shortly after. Haylee has an adorable, spoiled little chihuahua named Daisy. Outside of work Haylee enjoys being with friends and family, traveling, and working with horses.

Erin D. - Lead LVT

Erin is originally from Little Falls, MN. She graduated from NDSU in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Soon after graduation, she and her husband Kevin packed up and moved to Tucson, AZ where Erin worked in a one doctor practice for two years before moving back to Fargo. In June of 2010, she joined our team as a licensed veterinary technician, with a special interest in surgery and advanced dentistry. Outside of work Erin enjoys reading, hanging out with family and friends, spending time with Kevin and their two young daughters; Embry and Gabby, and their highly energetic cats named McNabb and Turby 

Allison T. - LVT

Allison joined our team in October 2011. Allison grew up on a farm outside of Cleveland, MN. She graduated from Globe University/Minnesota School of Business in December 2010 with an Associate in Applied Science degree for Veterinary Technology. She and her husband Wade own a sweet black lab named Jet who enjoys hunting, walk, belly rubs and jeep rides with mom and dad. They also home our feisty clinic cat Morgan at night and on weekends. Outside of work Allison enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, cooking, reading, crocheting, camping, fishing, skiing, and biking. 

Emily M. - LVT

Emily is originally from Glyndon, MN. She graduated from the Minnesota School of Business with a degree in Veterinary Technology in December, 2012. She and her husband Josh own two boxers, Bella and Mikko. They also have 2 rabbits named Bun and Jinx that have the run of the house. Emily enjoys reading, spending time with family, as well as hunting, fishing, and camping with Josh. 
Lindsay G. - LVT 

Lindsay was born and raised in Fargo, ND and graduated in March 2011 from Globe University/Minnesota School of Business with an Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She began working at Valley Veterinary Hospital in January 2013 as a veterinary assistant and has a special interest in animal behavior. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at the lake with friends and family, crafts and reading, and hanging out with her two crazy cats, Lilou and Pounce.

Caitlin O. - LVT

Caitlin was born just outside of Fargo, ND and earned her veterinary technology degree from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN in 2012. She enjoys doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, kayaking, and has most recently developed an interest in bow hunting. She also loves traveling and spending time with her dog and chinchilla named Chin Mau. 

Molly S. - LVT

Molly is from Moorhead, MN and graduated from Globe University in 2014 with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. She joined the Valley Vet team December 2014. Molly enjoys helping out with acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, and dentistry. In her spare time she likes to cook, bake, go to concerts, and hang out with her dog Niko.
Sheena B. - LVT

Sheena grew up in Kindred, ND and graduated from NDSU in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology and Veterinary Technology. Shortly after graduation, she worked at a small animal clinic in Mankato, MN for two years. She then moved to Milwaukee, WI to pursue her interests as a Surgery Technician at an Emergency and Referral Center for five years. Sheena finally moved back to Fargo with her family and has worked at Valley Vet in June 2016. Sheena enjoys spending time with her husband, Zack, and two boys, Isaac and Ethan, going hiking, and crocheting. They have one cat (Samwise Gamgee), a crested gecko (Tyler), and several snakes.

Melody B. - LVT

Melody was born and raised in Fargo and graduated from NDSU with a bachelor of science degree in veterinary technology in May, 2011. She also works part-time at the FM humane society helping animals find forever homes. She has a special interest in animal behavior, dentistry and nutrition. She currently lives in Moorhead with her husband, son and daughter. She has a standard poodle named Apollo, a pit bull named Kane, and a couple cats. She enjoys being with her family, being outdoors, reading, crafts, and anything animal related.

Veterinary Assistants

Amber L. - Veterinary Assistant

Amber is originally from Mandan, ND, She moved to West Fargo in 2003. Amber graduated from NDSU in 2014 with a degree in Zoology with an emphasis on fisheries, wildlife, ecology, and behavior. Amber joined our team in February of 2015. When not working, she enjoys herping (looking for and catching amphibians, reptiles, and salamanders), exploring the outdoors, volleyball, and reading. Above all, she loves spending time with the two rescue pets who stole her heart, Bella, an Australian Shepard/Sheltie mix and Snickers, a German Shepard/Lab mix. 

April - Veterinary Assistant

April was raised in Vita, Manitoba and lived on a small hobby farm. She attended a year at NDSU and then transferred to Globe University and graduated as a Veterinary Technician in December 2016. She will be taking the National Exam in fall 2017. April is interested in both large and small animals, but wants to get stronger in exotics. April adopted her cat Zoey while at Glbe University and recently got a little Yorkie puppy named Kimber. April loves being with family and spending time with her crazy fur babies. 

Jaime K. - Veterinary Assistant

Jaime grew up in Centerville, MN and moved to Moorhead, MN in the fall of 2012. She is attending MSUM studying Evolutionary and Ecological Biology/Pre-vet and is the president of the Wildlife Society on campus. When not working or in school, Jaime enjoys reading, hunting and fishing, being with friends and family, listening to a variety of music, and spending time with her newly adopted 2 and 1/2 year old domestic long hair feline friend, Ingrid. 

Carley K- Veterinary Assistant

Carley was born in Minot, ND and graduated from NDSU in 2016 with a bachelor degree in Animal Science and a certification in dog training. She has 6 cats named Thundar Spartapuss, Amethyst Purridot, Little Foot, Scrap Monkey, Ronan Leo, &  Merida Purrcilla. She also makes room for the occasional foster cat for Homeward Animal Shelter.

Samantha G- Administrative Assistant

Samantha was born and raised in Moorhead, MN. She joined the Valley Vet team in September of 2014. Samantha enjoys reading, cooking, crafting, bear hunting, spending time with family and friends, and hiking with her blue healer Archer. Samantha also shares her home with her cat Jasmine.

Bernice E. - Administrative Assistant

Bernice was born and raised in West Virginia. After she graduated high school in 1996 she attended Concord University to pursue a degree in Psychology. After 3 years of College Bernice decided to join the United States Army and began her military career. She was a supply sergeant in the Army for 4 years and then transferred to the United States Air Force for an additional 11 years. Bernice was a X-ray technician during her enlistment in the Air Force. Bernice and her family have lived in 11 states and overseas. Bernice and her husband both retired from the military and moved to Moorhead, MN with their 3 kids in 2014. Bernice shares her home with her two dogs Cookie and Camilla. Cookie is a 3 year old chug and Camilla is a 2 Year Olde English Bulldog. Bernice a Halloween enthusiast and enjoys crafting and reading in her spare time.

Morgan Marley O'Mara - Office Cat

Morgan came to our clinic in December of 2011. Her duties include greeting clients at the front desk and wandering the halls aimlessly. In her spare time she enjoys eating, sleeping, and playing with mice-shaped toys.
