Veterinarians

Roger Jorgenson, DVM
Dr. Jorgenson grew up on a farm in the northern Red River Valley near Grafton, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1984 with a degree in veterinary medicine. He began his professional career at Valley Vet that same year in mixed animal practice. His present professional interests include CO2 laser surgery, zoo animal medicine and general small animal medicine and surgery. At present the Jorgenson’s own three family pets – Wally, a Golden Retriever, Dori, a Lhasa Apso, and a gray tomcat named Sammy. His wife Maggie teaches accounting at Concordia College, and they have three adult children, Lisa, Jennie and Tom. Dr. Jorgenson’s hobbies include traveling, camping, hiking, and playing various stringed instruments, including five-string banjo, guitar, resophonic guitar and mandolin.

Derine Winning, DVM
Dr. Winning graduated from Colorado State University in 1997. She practiced in Montana for over 6 years before coming back to her home state of North Dakota in 2003. She joined Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2006 and became a partner in the clinic later that year. Since then she continues to enjoy practicing small animal and exotic medicine and surgery at Valley Veterinary Hospital. As time has progressed, Dr. Winning has established many cherished relationships with clients and their pets and enjoys “catching up” with them on their visits.
Dr. Winning’s family includes two miniature Dachshunds, Shroder and Elsa Mae, and two standard Dachshunds, Doobie (pictured), and Dahlia. Dr. Winning is considering starting a support group for those, like her, who are Dachshund addicts. Other than spending time with her dogs, she enjoys cooking, gardening, running, and just spending time in the country.

Dr. Lisa Ohman
Dr. Lisa Ohman grew up in South Saint Paul, MN. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian by the time she was 5 years old. She pursued her career choice and graduated from University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She had been practicing small animal medicine and surgery at a large practice in Minnesota until this September, when she joined our team. Dr. Ohman brings a wide set of skills to compliment our practice and especially pursues high quality care for her patients and clients. Dr. Ohman’s areas of interest include dermatology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She and her husband Chris share their home with two crazy Labradors, Gus and Drake, a rescued loveable pound cat Rojo, and a box turtle named Carl. Dr. Ohman enjoys the outdoors, especially campling, fishing, watching her dogs hunt, and spending time at her family lake cabin in the summer.
Practice Manager

Chris Rosenfeldt
Chris grew up in Moorhead, MN. She now calls lakes country Minnesota home. She started working at Valley Veterinary Hospital in May 2008 as a receptionist and then took on a role as veterinary assistant. In August of 2009, she accepted the role as Practice Manager.
Outside of work, Chris and Sam enjoy fishing the many lakes near their home when they’re not busy working on yard or home projects. They also spend free time at the farm/cabin, where they enjoy deer hunting (bow & rifle), goose & turkey hunting, four wheeling, fishing and just relaxing in the peace and quiet. Chris also enjoys photography, scrapbooking, gardening and just being at home. Chris recently adopted a kitten and named her Mercy. Mercy is a typical energetic kitten who is teaching Chris what is like to have a kitten again, and makes her wonder how something so little can have so much energy.
Chris has 2 Alaskan Malamutes, Tundra and Timber. Together they learned how to dogsled, cart and skijor to keep minds & bodies busy and healthy. Being typical Malamutes, Tundra & Timber keep her busy and on her toes with their active and silly personalities and antics, and are the reason behind her interest in dog behavior and Malamute rescue.
Veterinary Technicians

Erin D. - LVT
Erin is originally from Little Falls, MN. She graduated from NDSU in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She and her husband Kevin adopted Patch from the NDSU vet tech program. Patch is a very laid back Beagle who spends most of his free time sleeping. Soon after graduation, they packed up and moved to Tuscon, AZ, where Erin worked in a one-doctor practice for 2 years before moving back to Fargo. In June of 2010, she joined our team as a licensed veterinary technician, with a special interest in surgery and advanced dentistry. Outside of work, Erin enjoys reading, hanging out with family and friends and spending time with Kevin and their pets. They recently adopted a new addition for the family, a highly energetic kitten named McNabb, who enjoys tearing around the house and playing with his big brother Patch.

Tina B.- LVT
Tina is originally from Drayton, MN. While going to school at NDSU, she worked for Valley Vet as a kennel assistant for 2 years. In May of 2011 she graduated from NDSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. After completing her internship, she officially joined our team as a veterinary technician. Tina lives in Moorhead with her Irish Wolfhound mix, Colby. Outside of work, she enjoys playing sports, spending time outside, camping, working out and hanging out with family and friends.

Erin S. – LVT
Erin is originally from Grand Forks, ND. After graduating from UND and working as a public accountant, Erin decided to return to school in order to become a licensed veterinary technician. Erin graduated from NDSU in August 2011 with a degree in Veterinary Technology and began her career here at Valley Vet. Her interests in the veterinary field include physical therapy, nutrition and exotics. Erin currently lives with many fish and a “super” hamster named Phlebo.

Tabatha P. – LVT
Tabatha grew up on a farm outside of Georgetown, MN. She graduated from Globe University/Minnesota School of Business in June 2011 with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Tabatha joined Valley Veterinary Hospital in August of 2011, she has interests in exotic pets. Outside of work Tabatha enjoys spending time with her three children and hanging out with friends and family. Tabatha and her children enjoy going to the lake, camping, fishing and biking. Tabatha and her children are looking to add a new addition to the family, a bearded dragon.

Allison joined our team in October 2011. Allison grew up on a farm outside of Cleveland, MN. She graduated from Globe University/Minnesota School of Business in December 2010 with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Allison’s special interests include physical therapy and animal behavior. Allison enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Haylee H. – Veterinary Assistant
Haylee is from Rosemount, Minnesota and moved to Fargo to attend NDSU in 2004. After graduating NDSU in 2008 with degrees in Animal Science and Equine Science, she moved to Missouri to pursue a job in equine reproduction. She returned to Fargo in September 2010, and joined the Valley Veterinary team shortly after. Haylee has a Chihuahua named Daisy and loves spending time with her. Outside of work, Haylee enjoys hanging out with friends, being with family, traveling to horse shows with her sister and horseback riding.

Amanda G. – Veterinary Assistant
Amanda grew up on a small hobby farm near Max, ND. She graduated from NDSU in May of 2011 with a degree in animal science and is currently applying to veterinarian school. She joined the Valley Veterinary team as an assistant in September 2011. Amanda enjoys spending time with her friends, family and hamster Kirby. In her spare time Amanda enjoys Norwegian rosemaling painting, making flower arrangements and horseback riding.

Maggie C. – Veterinary Assistant
Maggie was born in Ohio, but grew up in Bismarck, ND. She moved to Fargo in 2008 to study Microbiology with Pre-Veterinary Medicine accent at NDSU. Maggie plans on attending Veterinary School in the fall of 2012. Maggie loves animals and her zoo currently consists of 2 dogs (Kyra & Cooper), 6 cats (Fitch, Jovie, Zoey, Nia, Freya & Bahli), 2 birds (Chuck & JackJack), and 2 gerbils (Zeus & Odin). In her spare time, Maggie likes to play with her dogs, run, read, horseback ride and swim.

Emily B. – Veterinary Assistant
Emily is originally from Glyndon, MN. She is currently working towards a degree in Veterinary Technology at the Minnesota School of Business. She owns a Jack Russell mix puppy named Moxxi that she adopted from the Otter Tail Humane Society. She also has a 2yr old mini rex rabbit named Bun that has the run of the house and loves his new puppy friend Moxxi. Emily enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family, friends and pets.

Erin is originally from Casselton, ND. She is currently working towards a degree in Human Resources. She joined our team as a receptionist in October 2010. In her spare time, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband Wayne, friends and family, spending time at the lakes, and scrapbooking. She has 3 cats, Tootsie, Halo and Oliver, a German shorthair Ecko, and a Labradoodle Mollie who keep her very busy.

Stephanie graduated from NDSU with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2009. She started as a receptionist in October of 2010. She enjoys gardening, camping and just hanging out with family. She lives with her husband, daughter, and German Shorthair Pointer in West Fargo.

Tiffani is attending NDSU for veterinary technology. She has a cocker spaniel named Daisy. Tiffani’s favorite things to do outside of school and work are planning her June 2012 wedding, biking, roller blading and listening to music.
