This kennel staff position is available immediately. Our practice is looking for an individual to join our team who has a passion for animals and wants to gain experience in the veterinary field.
The animals are onsite 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Therefore, this position requires weekends, holiday, and summer hours. The schedule for this position requires early mornings (5am-7am approx.) and evenings (5pm-9pm approx.). Shift start and end times can vary depending on how many animals are currently in the hospital to care for. Weekend shifts are on a rotational basis, about every 3rd or 4th weekend The weekend shift includes Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Sunday evening. The total hours per week vary depending on how many shifts you work (3-20 hours per week).
During the week, you can expect to have 2-4 shifts total, including both morning and evening. Morning shifts are usually 1-1 ½ hours long and evening shifts range from 2-4 hours depending on efficiency and the number of animals needing care. The weekend shift hours can vary but are usually between 8-14 hours, again depending on how many animals are needing care.
This position requires cleaning and sanitation of the hospital areas, patient laundry, as well as care for animals of varying health status and demeanor.
Reliable transportation is a requirement for this position.
